Questions about this station

What is this bait station for?

It controls rats and mice around this property. Rodents chew wiring, contaminate food and spread disease, so the owner has hired us to keep them in check.

What's in the bait?

Contrac rodent bait blocks made by Bell Laboratories. The active ingredient is bromadiolone (0.005%), an anticoagulant rodenticide registered with the EPA and applied by a WSDA-licensed technician.

How does it work?

Rodents go inside the locked box to feed. The bait works slowly over a few days, so other rodents don't connect it to getting sick and keep feeding until the population drops.

Why is it here?

Rats and mice travel along walls and fence lines. Stations go along those routes, close to where rodents are getting into buildings, so the problem is stopped before it gets inside.

How often does it get checked?

Every month. We inspect each station, refresh the bait as needed, note any activity and make sure the station is secure.

Is it safe for pets?

The station is tamper-resistant and locked, and the bait is secured on rods inside so it can't be shaken out. Pets and children can't reach it. Please don't move or open the station.

What if a pet gets into the bait?

Call your vet or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control line at (888) 426-4435 right away, even if your pet seems fine. Signs can take 3 to 5 days to show, and treatment works best when started early.
